3D Hubs has just released their monthly 3D Printing Trends Report for November. A few changes have been made to the printer quality ratings: Desktop and industrial printers are now displayed in two separate charts and the 3D printing technology of the devices has been added in an additional column.
Formlabs clearly dominates the podium, where the Form 1+ overtook its predecessor on the top. The Zortrax M200 has also continued its rise and became the best FDM desktop printer on the platform, grabbing the 3rd spot.
Professional printers from 3D Systems and Stratasys claim the top 5 on the industrial printer top list. The Projet 3500 HDMax and the Objet Eden 260 both obtained complete 5 star ratings.
The Form 1+ managed to hold onto the top spot among the fastest growing printers on the platform, showing a strong 49% growth, and while the printer isn’t new to the market, Makerbot’s Z18 came in at 2nd place. The Da Vinci 1.0 also managed to secure a position on the “trending” podium.
Stratasys holds on firmly to its leading position with RepRap and Ultimaker at 2 and 3 respectively. It is very interesting to note that while the total number of printers for each manufacturer continues to rise on the platform, their market shares are decreasing as new manufacturers enter the market.
