In the Trend Report for April 2016, 3D Hubs takes a closer look at the preferred 3D modelling softwares of their customers, along with the usual categories for highest rated 3D printers.
3D Hubs first asked their community a year ago what kind of 3D modelling software they use. Now they took a closer look again to see what has changed over the course of a year.
The professional CAD suite from Dassault Systèmes, SolidWorks, ranked first again with 18.6%, increasing its share by 0.9%. SketchUp comes in second again with 12.8%, representing a decrease of 3%. Autodesk dominates the chart with its cloud-based Fusion 360 claiming the third place, AutoCAD at #6 as well as the 123D suite and Inventor. Here is the complete chart:
The highest rated desktop 3D printer list is headed by the two new entrants, the BCN3D SIGMA FDM printer ranking first and the Form 2 SLA printer ranking second. The PowerSpec 3D Pro fell back to the third place, followed by the CEL Robox and the Zortrax M200.
The list for highest rated industrial printers is still dominated by 3D Systems and Stratasys as you can see in the following list:
Among the Trending Printers we find the Ultimaker 2+ on top of the chart, with a 118% MoM growth, followed by the Da Vinci 1.0 PRO and the Prusa i3x3 Custom.
