3D Pioneers Challenge 2025: A decade of innovation in 3D printing

The 3D Pioneers Challenge (3DPC) is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Since its inception, the platform has developed into a central meeting point for innovations in the field of additive manufacturing. With over 335 finalists, 72 winners and 32 special mentions from 34 countries, the 3DPC impressively demonstrates the global potential of this technology. Supported by 85 jurors and 75 partner institutions, the competition has made a decisive contribution to making innovative approaches visible and driving progress in 3D printing.

To mark the anniversary, the “Pioneer of the Decade” will be chosen for the first time this year. All previous finalists from the past nine years are invited to apply with their latest projects. The assessment will not only take into account the quality of the current submissions, but also the development of the projects and teams since their first participation. The jury will analyze what impact the projects have had on the industry and how they contribute to the further development of additive manufacturing.

Another highlight is the publication of a book documenting the milestones of the last decade. It combines insights from industry experts with outstanding examples from the competitions and offers a comprehensive overview of the progress and trends in 3D printing. Winners of the title “Pioneer of the Decade” have the opportunity to become part of this publication with an exclusive contribution.

The anniversary exhibition will take place at rapid.tech 3D from May 13 to 15, 2025 in Erfurt. Leading minds from the industry will meet here to present practical applications and pioneering technologies. The 3D Pioneers Challenge invites you to experience this exciting journey through a decade of innovation up close.
