In 2025, the 3D Pioneers Challenge (3DPC) celebrates its tenth anniversary. Since its inception in 2015, the renowned platform has provided a stage for innovators in additive manufacturing and related technologies. The competition is firmly integrated into the rapid.tech 3D trade fair and has become an important event for the industry. Participants from all over the world present projects here that explore technical boundaries and provide new impetus.
The range of projects in recent years illustrates the immense potential of 3D printing and its applications. The 3D-printed heart made from stem cells developed in Israel and the automated printed bridge in the Netherlands, which opened up new perspectives for the construction industry, attracted particular attention. Developments in the field of sustainable materials and AI-supported manufacturing processes also regularly attracted attention.
For the anniversary edition, the organizers have announced a special exhibition where former winners and finalists will present their progress. The aim is to shed light on the influence of these innovations on the 3D printing sector and the manufacturing industry. The focus will be on how the projects of recent years have evolved and what contribution they are making today.
The exhibition will take place in Erfurt from 13 to 15 May 2025 and will be part of the rapid.tech 3D program. With a diverse mix of innovations and retrospectives, the 10th edition of the 3D Pioneers Challenge promises a comprehensive insight into the development of 3D printing and its future prospects.
