Yesterday night a local fire department near Vienna, Austria, was called because a fire has spread in an apartment building.
Right before midnight, the local fire station Freiwillige Feuerwehr Wiener Neustadt was called from residents due to a fire that had broken out in one of the apartments in the residential building. Presumably a 3D printer caught fire or was set on fire by an external source. At this moment the exact cause can’t be determined.
The fire department released a picture of molten filament spools which also shows the source of fire next to them. From the shape of the burn marks I suspect that this is where the 3D printer stood.
Residents were surprised by the fire in their sleep and taken to hospital due to smoke inhalation.
