During this year’s Formnext in Frankfurt, more than 25 3D printing service providers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland met to discuss current developments, challenges and prospects in the industry. The meeting was organized by 3D Industrie GmbH, which had already successfully held similar events in previous years. A joint dinner offered participants the opportunity to exchange experiences and initiate new partnerships.
Johannes Lutz 3D Industrie GmbH, said: “If you look at the initial situations of the participants who joined the network a year ago, a large part of the success in the 3D printing services business is dependent on good partners and experts. Never before have so many orders been distributed internally, expertise expanded and business friendships forged as this year.”
The network, which now comprises more than 130 companies, offers a platform for sharing production capacities, post-processing techniques and technical expertise while optimizing machine utilization.
The discussions focused on technical queries regarding special applications, current market trends and the challenges facing the 3D printing industry. Topics such as the expansion of partnerships and the use of modern post-processing technologies were discussed in depth.
Torsten Wolschendorf of Prototec GmbH & Co. KG, said: “This year has shown in particular who was well prepared for the current events in the 3D printing industry and who was not. We were already aware of many current topics in the network months ago and were therefore able to act more cleverly and maintain or increase sales despite the crisis situation.”
The constantly growing network enables service providers to use their capacities efficiently, develop innovative customer solutions and secure or increase sales despite economic uncertainties. The event once again highlighted the importance of joint initiatives in order to remain successful in a dynamic and technology-driven industry. The next network meeting is already being planned to further promote exchange and cooperation.
