Dutch technology company 3devo has announced the launch of its new Filament Maker TWO. This machine has been specifically designed to enable 3D printing professionals to produce FDM filaments in-house. Based on feedback from users of the original Filament Maker ONE, the Filament Maker TWO addresses requirements for stability, efficiency and adaptability in filament extrusion.
The Filament Maker TWO is intended to make a significant contribution to plastic recycling and filament production. By using commercially available plastic pellets instead of more expensive polymers with filaments, the machine offers a high cost-saving potential. A key innovation is the variable nozzle (variable fusing), which can switch between turbo and detail mode during component build-up. This flexibility enables fast production of large volumes and at the same time high precision in detailed areas.
Louis Rinaldo, a Materials Specialist with over seven years of experience at 3devo,said: “The Filament Maker TWO is designed to enable faster research and development processes, allowing our customers (we actually consider them partners) to produce high-quality filament that exactly suits their needs.”
The machine features an improved extrusion control system with a new stepper motor and a gearbox that delivers up to three times more torque and ensures minimal speed fluctuations. This is complemented by an intuitive touchscreen interface that enables easy operation and monitoring of the extrusion processes.
Another highlight of the Filament Maker TWO is its advanced monitoring technology. A 3-axis camera sensor measures the filament ovality and diameter with an accuracy of 10 micrometers, ensuring precise quality control. The machine also allows for easy maintenance with easily replaceable components, minimizing downtime.
With the introduction of the Filament Maker TWO, 3devo continues to position itself as a provider of innovative solutions in the field of 3D printing. The machine supports companies in optimizing their production processes and efficiently fulfilling individual filament requirements. 3devo will present the Filament Maker TWO at Formnext 2024 at booth F139 Hall 12.1, where interested parties can experience live demonstrations of the new machine.
