3DGence in cooperation with Arkema and Kimya is expanding field of applications of PEKK material

3DGence, in cooperation with innovative and advanced material companies Arkema and Armor Group, is expanding the field and use of open-market applications for PAEK based materials in the 3D Printing Industry. Armor Group’s Kimya PEKK-A made with Arkema Kepstan PEKK Resin is a new addition to 3DGence’s Certified Material Base and available now.

3DGence, a manufacturer of high-temperature, high-performance Industrial 3D Printers, has been in cooperation with Arkema, a French designer of innovative solutions in specialty chemicals and advanced materials, and Armor Group, a company producing advanced and custom print and coatings materials for various industries including additive manufacturing under the Kimya brand. Through this cooperation, Armor Group’s Kimya PEKK-A, a high-performance material based on Arkema Kepstan resin, can be 3D printed with soluble support material – 3DGence’s ESM-10®, the industry-first soluble support for high-temperature, high-strength PAEK materials. The first 3D printer in the global market that can process the combination of PEKK with soluble support material is the 3DGence INDUSTRY F340.

Soluble support material is a necessity for successful high-temperature, high-strength 3D prints that goes beyond productivity to more complex geometries and higher resolutions. To date, the number of available solutions for 3D printing from technical materials with soluble support has been limited. With the aforementioned new materials combination, new possibilities for PEKK applications is possible and ready for market use. 3DGence ESM-10 is currently being utilized with high-temperature materials for creating openwork and very thin-walled models, as well as 3D prints with engineered voids.

– 3DGence’s collaboration with Arkema and Armor Group is a major breakthrough for the Industrial 3D Printing Global Market. Adding this new material profile for use on the 3DGence INDUSTRY F340 will allow enterprises from Aerospace, Automotive, and many other industries to produce complex parts from PEKK. We are very pleased that we could increase the functionality of our Industrial 3D printer with Kimya’s high-performance material. This would not have been possible without the collaborative effort of these three companies says Mateusz Sidorowicz, Marketing Manager from 3DGence.
