General Lattice releases Frontier Digital Materials Platform

General Lattice announces the beta release of its Frontier platform. The platform is designed to facilitate the use of lattice structures in additive manufacturing.

Frontier provides a searchable library of validated mechanical property data to help users select the best combination of lattice, material, and hardware. Physical samples can be searched, analyzed and ordered. This eliminates costly guessing and testing, saving time, money and resources.

The future of manufacturing is digital, and digital materials are enabling a quantum leap in product development. They offer superior performance and dynamic tunability, leveraging the strengths of additive manufacturing (AM).

Frontier partners with industry-leading hardware and materials companies to provide a centralized source of information on digital materials. Initial platform partners include EOS, BASF Forward AM and Photocentric, with a focus on elastomeric polymers for foam replacement applications.

“These tools will reduce the effort and costs to replace foam via drop-in lattice solutions, as well as reduce waste generated by physical prototype iterations.” – Dave Krzeminski, Ph.D. Senior Additive Minds Consultant at EOS.

The Frontier platform is continuously expanding to include more partners and a wider range of digital materials, including metals, ceramics and composites.
