The metal 3D printing manufacturer a-metal and the distribution specialist 3D-MODEL have announced an exclusive partnership for the distribution of a-metal printers in southern Germany and Switzerland. The aim is to make Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) technology, which enables precise and efficient metal fabrication, available to a wider industrial target group. These devices are designed to be compact and affordable, making the technology attractive to smaller companies and research institutions.
“Our partnership with 3D-MODEL is an important step in making innovative metal 3D printing technology accessible to a wider range of customers,” explains Stephan Steiner, CEO and co-founder of a-metal. “3D-MODEL’s expertise in consulting and sales of additive manufacturing solutions will enable us to optimally support all manufacturing or research companies in southern Germany and Switzerland in the integration of this pioneering technology.”
The a-metal printers use the LPBF process, in which a powerful 200-watt fiber laser melts metal powder layer by layer to form complex components. With a build volume of 150 x 150 x 150 mm and a layer resolution of 30 micrometers, the machine enables precise production as required in the automotive and mechanical engineering industries. The system’s closed material circuit uses sealed powder cartridges, which ensure safe and clean processing. This reduces direct contact with metal powders and ensures a high level of occupational safety without the need for a special laboratory or experienced personnel.
3D-MODEL CEO Philipp Binkert is enthusiastic about the new, user-friendly metal 3D printer. “We are delighted to be able to offer a powerful yet affordable solution for industrial metal 3D printing with the a-metal,” says the CEO of 3D-MODEL, who has almost 20 years of experience in the industry. “This technology opens up completely new possibilities in product development and manufacturing for the wider industry.”
The partnership between a-metal and 3D-MODEL comes into effect immediately. In addition to sales, 3D-MODEL will also take over the service and maintenance of the devices and provide comprehensive support for companies entering the world of metal 3D printing. Companies in southern Germany and Switzerland interested in the a-metal series can now contact 3D-MODEL to find out more about the benefits of the compact LPBF printers.
