With 3D printing robots on wheels Robert Flitsch wants to stop potholes once and for all.
The name Addibots stands for Additive Manufacturing Robots. These Addibots are small four-wheeled vehicles that detect bumps in the ground and fill these bumps layer by layer.
The Addibots are currently tested on ice and will be further developed to operate on streets and sidewalks. So these robots can already be used to fill bumps behind ice skaters. The following video shows how it works:
The team from Addibots are demonstrating the fine skills of their machines by printing a sketch on a sheet of paper. Ultimately, the Addibots should operate on streets to fill potholes.
