ADDIMETAL, a company specializing in metal 3D printing, is presenting the K-2-2 at Formnext 2024 in Frankfurt. This first metal binder jetting machine developed in France represents the result of four years of intensive development and one year of successful beta testing. The K-2-2 has been specifically designed to enable the production of complex metal parts with high precision and speed and to reduce production costs.
The machine has customizable printing parameters and is equipped with Orion software, which ensures seamless integration into existing workflows. With a resolution of 360 to 1200 DPI and a build volume of 200x200x200 mm, the K-2-2 offers a flexible solution for the requirements of industrial applications. A standout feature is the ability to use non-proprietary binders, giving users greater material freedom.
“The K-2-2 represents a game-changing advancement for industries like aerospace, automotive, luxury, and more. Our goal is to become one of the European leaders in metal additive manufacturing,” said Mohamad Koubar, CEO of ADDIMETAL. “With the K-2-2, we provide a solution that bridges the gap between lab-scale research and full-scale industrial production.”
As one of the early beta testers, JPB Système, an aerospace company, reported noticeable improvements in production quality and efficiency.
“Our machine’s ability to use non-proprietary consumables offers unparalleled freedom to manufacturers, providing the flexibility they need to push the limits of innovation,” said Franck Liguori, CCO of ADDIMETAL. “We’ve designed the K-2-2 to be versatile, cost-efficient, and easy to integrate into existing workflows, making it ideal for R&D teams and industrial applications alike.”
“In just a few months, we achieved better results with the K-2-2 than with other machines on the market,” they concluded.
The K-2-2 will be unveiled at Formnext 2024 from November 19-22, where ADDIMETAL will also offer live demonstrations and press briefings. Interested visitors will have the opportunity to get to know the machine and its capabilities first-hand. ADDIMETAL is also pursuing plans to expand its product portfolio and is seeking strategic partnerships to further advance the development of additive manufacturing.
