Admatec and Formatec Resume Operations Under New Names After Insolvency

Following the insolvency of Admatec and Formatec in April 2025, both companies have successfully resumed operations under a new structure. Since June, they have been operating as Admatec Additive Solutions B.V. and Formatec Advanced Products B.V. The relaunch is led by Michiel de Bruijcker, one of Admatec’s co-founders, and marks a strategic new beginning with a focus on local control and the preservation of technological expertise.

Formatec, founded in 1996, specialized early on in Ceramic Injection Moulding (CIM). In 2012, the establishment of Admatec expanded the portfolio to include additively manufactured components made from technical ceramics and metals. The in-house development of 3D printing systems for high-performance applications earned the company a strong market position, particularly in sectors such as semiconductors and medical technology. There is a significant installed base of machines in the U.S., operating in demanding industrial environments.

Most recently, the companies were part of an international technology group, where the Dutch division had increasingly taken a back seat. The current restructuring marks a return to local leadership and a long-term strategic vision. This transition is supported by two Dutch investors with industry experience and a focus on sustainable industrial value creation.

A key factor in ensuring continuity is the retention of personnel, technology, and customer relationships. Both companies are maintaining their existing teams and production facilities. Their technical infrastructure spans the entire process chain—from 3D printing to CIM and post-processing. This ensures the continued delivery of high-precision applications, such as custom-made components with complex geometries or high resistance to heat and chemicals.

Michiel de Bruijcker: “With this new foundation, Admatec Additive Solutions and Formatec Advanced Products are ready for a future in which quality, reliability and technological advantage are of absolute essence.”
