Airtech qualifies material for large-format 3D printers from KraussMaffei

Airtech Advanced Materials Group has announced that its proprietary Dahltram resins have now been officially approved for use in KraussMaffei‘s powerPrint series of large-format 3D printers. This development marks an important step in the collaboration between the two companies to further advance additive manufacturing in large-format polymer printing.

Airtech’s materials underwent extensive mechanical and thermal testing to ensure their compatibility with KraussMaffei’s polymer-based extrusion systems. According to the companies, this partnership will support growth in strategic markets worldwide.

Gregory Haye, Director of Additive Manufacturing at Airtech, said: “We are delighted to be working with KraussMaffei to deploy our Dahltram Resine on their powerPrint platform globally. The combination of a high-throughput extruder and a controlled, heated environment at KraussMaffei enables users to achieve precise and consistent printing results with both high- and low-temperature resins.”

The increasing demand for large-format additive manufacturing solutions is also reflected in further collaborations with Airtech. Earlier this year, the company announced a partnership with Ascent Aerospace to provide 3D printed tools for challenging polymer composite manufacturing applications.

KraussMaffei also emphasizes the importance of the collaboration. Rolf Mack, Vice President of Additive Manufacturing at KraussMaffei, emphasized: “In Airtech, we have found a valuable partner who understands exactly how their materials are used by end users. Their holistic approach ensures that our powerPrint systems work with optimally tested materials and that both print quality and material applications remain at the highest level.”
