The machine manufacturer AM Efficiency has introduced a new system for the post-processing of SLS 3D prints. The UNPIT system is aimed at users of desktop SLS printers and is designed to automate the manual post-processing of printed objects.
The machine covers the most important steps in SLS post-processing: unpacking the objects, removing the powder, cleaning and material preparation. According to the manufacturer, the system can completely recover the unused printing powder. The system is compatible with SLS printers from Sinterit, Sintratec and Formlabs.
“The solution is aimed at optimizing SLS workflows,” says Casper Rosén, CEO of AM Efficiency. The electronics were developed in cooperation with Siemens.
The workflow is based on the direct transfer of the printing cake. The machine then carries out the post-processing steps automatically. This is intended to reduce personnel costs in parts production. Material recovery is the focus of the design.
The market launch is planned for early 2025. AM Efficiency will be exhibiting the machine for the first time at Formnext in Frankfurt (Hall 12.1, Stand G138).
