At this year’s Formnext, AM Solutions – 3D post processing technology presented the latest version of its S2 system, which has been specially developed for the post-processing of powder-based printed workpieces. The updated system combines cleaning and surface treatment in a closed process and offers fully automated batch processing in 24/7 operation.
A key technical advance is the optimized abrasive circuit, which enables a 25 percent increase in abrasive throughput. This not only improves efficiency, but also ensures a more consistent surface quality of the processed components. The heart of the system, the tried and tested PU loop belt, has been retained and redesigned for even greater process reliability. It ensures particularly gentle handling of the workpieces, which is particularly advantageous for sensitive or inhomogeneous components.
“We have made a very good product even better,” says David Soldan, Head of AM Solutions – 3D post processing technology, as he talks about the new S2 for the fully automatic cleaning and surface treatment of workpiece batches from powder-based printing processes in 24/7 operation. “Direct feedback from our customers played a key role in this and our consistent focus on market requirements has once again proven its worth.”
In addition, the control of the blasting process has been improved by integrating an additional, strategically positioned blasting nozzle. This ensures that components are held in the optimum position for longer, enabling more intensive and uniform processing. A revised drum separation system separates abrasive and dust from the workpieces even more efficiently, thereby increasing the degree of cleaning. Practical innovations such as a waste drum with fill level monitoring and simplified emptying further increase ease of use.
The Italian company Weerg, a leading provider of e-commerce manufacturing solutions, has already tested the new S2 and purchased two of the machines and another S1 at the trade fair.
“We have already used several systems from AM Solutions – 3D post processing technology and have always been impressed by the quality and reliability. We therefore had high expectations of the further development of the S2 – and these were once again fully met. We particularly appreciate the fact that AM Solutions works closely with its customers and takes our feedback seriously in order to continuously improve the machines and optimally align them to the needs of the market,” says Matteo Rigamonti, founder of Weerg.
With the new S2, AM Solutions is demonstrating how important technological developments are for increasing efficiency in industrial post-processing, especially in an environment that increasingly relies on automation and precision.
