AMEXCI and AMPOWER collaborate on 3D Printing learning platform

AMEXCI is leveraging the AMPOWER Academy platform to distribute Additive Manufacturing know-how amongst its members and speed up adoption of AM in the region.

AMEXCI, a Sweden and Finland-based company specialized in metal and polymer Additive Manufacturing (AM), supporting its customers to accelerate the adoption of AM, announced today that it will be offering online learning courses provided by the AMPOWER Academy to its owners and customers. The German-based Additive Manufacturing consultancy AMPOWER released its platform at formnext 2022, which now offers five courses specifically targeted to beginners and intermediate users of Additive Manufacturing.

Additive Manufacturing, also known as industrial 3D printing, is a disruptive manufacturing technology that revolutionizes the way companies produce metal and polymer components. However, implementing this technology is a challenging task that requires extensive know-how. In 2017, 12 leading Nordic industrial companies came together to accelerate the adoption of Additive Manufacturing and founded AMEXCI as a collaboration network with capabilities for education, research, and application development.

The AMPOWER Academy platform was introduced at formnext 2022 to accelerate self-paced online education for engineers, purchasers, or quality managers. The platform is based on the extensive market and technology know-how and training experience by the AM consultancy AMPOWER. The self-paced AM training program of the AMPOWER Academy platform covers the most important topics of the AM market, such as technology fundamentals, working principles, typical applications, and current market trends. This allows individual employees and entire companies to use the online learning programs and learn at their own pace.

In the now-announced collaboration, AMEXCI is taking full advantage of the AMPOWER Academy, offering their customers a simple and effective training opportunity. This enables companies to introduce company-wide initial training for thousands of engineers, independent of their location and their schedule. “The self-paced online learning can be used by any staff member, independent of their current knowledge of AM,” says Manja Franke, Chief Strategy Officer at AMEXCI. “Not only Engineers but also Managers, Purchasers or others can gain a basic understanding of Additive Manufacturing and a solid knowledgebase, enabling them to identify potential applications.” Matthias Schmidt-Lehr, Managing Partner at AMPOWER, adds, “This learning program will lead to more applications in Additive Manufacturing because engineers become aware of the true potential but also limitations of the technology.”

This strategic partnership between AMEXCI and AMPOWER will allow for the acceleration of Additive Manufacturing adoption. With this collaboration, AMEXCI will provide more opportunities for AM enthusiasts to learn and become proficient in the use of AM, ultimately driving innovation and growth within the industry. The AMPOWER Academy can be accessed here and currently offers 5 learning courses, with further courses in development.
