AMFG announces partnership with AME-3D

AMFG announced a partnership with leading product development and prototyping company AME-3D. By implementing AMFG’s MES and workflow automation software, AME-3D will strategically strengthen its core business and lay the essential foundations for further scaling its production.

AME-3D has been providing expert design and prototyping services for 26 years, excelling particularly within the specialist niche of vacuum casting for production, alongside RIM casting. Additionally, the company offers a number of 3D printing services, holding expertise in SLA and SLS AM for rapid prototyping and low volume production, recently investing in three more additive manufacturing machines. AME-3D supplies a diverse client base, varying from small startups to large enterprises, bridging a multitude of industries. For each individual client, AME-3D pride themselves on masterfully adapting their services to each unique use-case. Success has followed them over the last two years, with the company experiencing significant financial investment, sparking a new bout of development and opening up further paths for expansion.

Upon receiving their financial backing, AME-3D identified MES & workflow software as a strategic investment, offering a means to mature and scale their manufacturing processes. Specifically, the company was seeking to improve their quotation speed by reducing manual input, making it simpler for their present employees to manage higher RFQ volumes and accelerate their quotation throughput. Aiming for new heights of efficiency in their business, AME-3D began the search for a software solution coordinated with their goals.

In AMFG, AME-3D discovered a solution aptly suited to their operative needs. Through its quotation automation feature, the software enabled a reduction in labour time and afforded firmer control over quotation quality. Additionally, AMFG’s digital catalogue functionality allowed AME-3D’s customers to order from a list of preconfigured CAD files, reducing the need for client input and establishing a transformationally simplified buying journey. Having sealed an official partnership, AME-3D is set to utilise the power of AMFG to expedite their ongoing growth.

Following the agreement, AME-3D and AMFG have worked closely together towards software implementation, including an intensive process of dissecting the company’s business framework and configuring the software to maximise its application’s benefits. Now in place, the company is already noticing operational improvements, easing previously time-consuming and high-effort tasks.

Alongside conventional 3D printing applications, traditionally catered for by AMFG, AME-3D have incorporated vacuum casting within their AMFG solution. Vacuum casting has experienced a burst in popularity within the company over the past year; having equipped AMFG, AME-3D has bolstered their position to scale smoothly and continuously.

“AMFG has a lot of capability packed into the software. I was specifically looking for a solution that enabled faster quoting, an online quoting platform and production management, and AMFG has all of these.” commented Rich Proctor, Managing Director of AME Group, “I have benefitted a lot from the speed at which the support team at AMFG reply to queries. There is more that we can do with the software as we get further into the integrations with other parts of our business too. Strategically, I could see that growing AME-3D would be an easier task when we were building on a platform that offers clarity, control, and consistency.”

Adding to this, Matt Martin, VP EMEA at AMFG remarked: “At AMFG, we take great pride in aligning with high-growth organisations who are carving the path forward in additive. AME Group’s ambitions and demands for a solution were ambitious and well thought-out, but it’s great to observe the clear demonstration of value that AME-3D have derived from AMFG in both their customer-facing improvements and back office process efficiency.”
