Anycubic is preparing to launch its new FDM 3D printer, the Kobra X. According to the manufacturer, a warm-up phase with a pre-order page will run from December 10 to 25. Anycubic plans to announce the final prices around December 20, but the pre-order price has not yet been determined. At the same time, the manufacturer has put a warm-up page online with product images, an overview of features, and promotional information.
The manufacturer is advertising the Kobra X with the slogan “2X the Speed, 2X the Material Savings.” It mentions an integrated four-color system, supplemented by the statement “19-Color Builds Legacy.” When changing colors, the Kobra X is said to reduce the length of filament purges by 81.25 percent. To achieve this, Anycubic says it has shortened the retract distance in the color mixing system to 30 millimeters. The distance to the integrated cutter is 10 millimeters.
A comparison image with a multicolored printed dragon model illustrates the promised time and material savings. Anycubic specifies a printing time of 8 hours and 40 minutes for the Kobra X for the same object. Other printers, which are not specified in detail, require 27 hours and 13 minutes in comparison. In terms of filament consumption, the Kobra X uses 119 grams compared to a reference value of 340 grams. On this basis, the manufacturer claims double the printing speed and half the material requirements.
The key technical data specifies a print volume of 260 x 260 x 260 millimeters. Anycubic specifies the maximum print speed as up to 600 millimeters per second. The platform is designed to enable a particularly even first layer, and multi-material printing from soft and hard filaments is also explicitly mentioned. According to the list of features, the printer supports intelligent remote printing with AI-based recognition. For use in offices or living spaces, Anycubic points to active noise reduction and a silent mode with up to 45 decibels.
