The Australian 3D printer manufacturer Asiga presented a new product line at the International Dental Show (IDS) 2025 in Cologne. With the so-called PrintPods, Asiga is expanding its existing printing systems with a material solution for direct use in dental practices. The capsules enable fast 3D printing of restorations such as crowns, inlays, onlays and veneers – directly at the dental chair.
The PrintPods are compact, disposable capsules that can be integrated into existing Asiga systems in just a few simple steps. According to the manufacturer, it is possible to produce a dental crown in just a few minutes. Each capsule can be used for up to five printing processes before it needs to be replaced. Asiga is thus pursuing an approach that is designed for both efficiency and sustainability. The capsules are designed for low material consumption and easy disposal.
Technically, the PrintPods are based on Asiga’s existing DLP technology, which is known for precise and repeatable results. The system remains open to materials from various third-party suppliers. Validation processes are currently underway with other material manufacturers to further expand compatibility.
