With the F9, the US start-up Aura3D is presenting a large-format FFF 3D printer. The Florida-based company was only founded at the end of 2024, but has already launched several devices on the market – including smaller and larger FFF models as well as various resin and high-temperature printers.
The F9 is one of the medium-sized machines in the portfolio, but with a build volume of 910 × 860 × 1000 mm, it offers sufficient space for large parts. The printer can be equipped with either a PEI-coated, an aluminum or a glass plate. The heatable printing platform reaches temperatures of up to 120 °C. Both FFF and FGF printing processes are available. For FFF operation, the system supports filament diameters of 1.75 or 2.85 mm. In FGF mode, the material hopper holds up to 5 kg of plastic granulate.
The standard nozzle reaches 350 °C; an optional version for up to 450 °C is available. This means that high-performance engineering plastics can also be processed. Users can use nozzles with different diameters for different requirements in terms of printing time and level of detail – including variants with 0.8 mm for fast printing of coarse geometries.
In addition to the F9, Aura3D also offers a smaller model, the F6, and a significantly larger model, the F12. According to the manufacturer, it is also possible to produce customized large systems with installation spaces of up to 2.4 m edge length. The F9 models are now available in the USA and Europe. The entry-level price is around 20,000 US dollars.
