Autodesk Project Shapeshifter und Project Miller – Update: Shapeshifter Upgrade

Autodesk Labs introduces the two new 3D software projects “Miller” and “Shapeshifter”

29.11.2013

Project Shapeshifter

The cloud-based 3D modelling software Shapeshifter allows to easily create geometric shapes via browser by using default templates and tools. The modelling can be done by using simple slide controls and can later on be used for 3D printing. Models can be exported in .OBJ format.

The software will be available here form January 2014.

Project Miller

Project Miller enables you to preview and inspect 3D models in CAD or GCode format before 3D printing. Numerous tools for optimising wall-thickness, troubleshooting as well as Mesh-functions are available. Further you can visualise how it will print. Eventually the 3D model can be exported in .STL format.

The software will be available for Windows and Mac OSX from December 2013 and can be tested here.

Update: 20.02.2014 – Shapeshifter Upgrade

A recent update of Project Shapeshifter allows for modelling of circular objects.
