Azure Printed Homes raises 4.2 million US dollars for sustainable housing

Azure Printed Homes has launched a $4.2 million crowdfunding campaign to expand production capacity and support families affected by the Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025. The company focuses on 3D-printed houses made from recycled materials, which are produced up to 70 percent faster and 30 percent cheaper than conventional construction methods. This could play an important role in the “Return and Rebuild” ordinance initiated by Mayor Karen Bass, which prioritizes rapid rebuilding efforts for affected areas.

Azure plans to use the funds from the campaign to expand its production capacity in Los Angeles and build a new plant in Colorado. The growing interest in sustainable and readily available housing is driving this development. According to the company, Azure has also been nominated as a finalist for the SXSW Innovation Award 2025 in the “Urban Experience” category.

“The recent LA wildfires have left thousands of families without homes, and Azure is committed to being part of the solution,” said Ross Maguire, Co-Founder and CEO of Azure Printed Homes. “As we continue to grow, this new funding campaign underscores our commitment to rapidly scale our capacity and to bring affordable, climate-resilient homes to all buyers, and most especially, to those who need them most. We are firmly committed as a company to not only contribute to the growing needs for disaster recovery but also to advancing the future of sustainable construction.”

Azure takes an environmentally friendly approach to production, with 60% of the materials used coming from recycled plastic. Thanks to advanced 3D printing technology, the modular houses can be produced within four to five weeks and delivered quickly. This makes them an attractive alternative for disaster areas and the growing market for sustainable construction.

Interested investors have the opportunity to participate in the campaign with a minimum contribution of 1,000 US dollars. Azure hopes that this will not only generate funds for further growth, but also raise awareness of the importance of sustainable construction methods.
