The US magazine TIME has published its annual list of the “Best Inventions of 2025” and honored two developments from Bambu Lab’s 3D printing environment: the Bambu Lab H2D and the CyberBrick system. Both were recognized for their innovative approaches in the field of additive manufacturing and creative construction.
The H2D from Bambu Lab received the award in the “Manufacturing & Materials” category. The system combines high printing speed with precise process control and is set to raise the bar in desktop manufacturing. The printer supports both technical materials and flexible filaments and offers reliable monitoring of the printing process thanks to an advanced sensor system. According to Bambu Lab, the machine has been specially developed for users who need industrial precision in a compact format.
The CyberBrick project was honored in the “Toys & Play” category. It is a modular construction system that combines 3D-printed building blocks with digital design software. Users can create, customize, and print their own designs. The system aims to promote creativity and technical education by blurring the lines between toys and manufacturing technology.
Its inclusion in the TIME list highlights the influence of additive manufacturing beyond industry. While the H2D addresses professional use, CyberBrick shows how 3D printing is also finding new applications in education and leisure.
