Bambu Lab H2D: Leak points to new 3D printer with laser cutter function

A picture has appeared in the “Bambu Lab Official User Group” on Facebook showing a previously unknown 3D printer from Bambu Lab called H2D. This image is said to have originally come from a post on the Chinese social network WeChat. The image suggests several remarkable features of the new device.

The H2D apparently has a dual-nozzle switching toolhead, which enables switching between two nozzles. This could make the printing process more flexible and increase efficiency. With an installation space of 350 x 320 x 325 mm, the printer also offers more space for larger objects compared to previous models from the manufacturer.

Another interesting detail is the “Heated AMS HT”. This could indicate a heated automatic material system that is optimized for handling high-temperature filaments. Such a function would be particularly advantageous for printing technical plastics.

The green panels of the device and a module on the top labeled “LASER 10W” with an emergency stop switch are also striking. This indicates that the H2D can possibly be used as both a 3D printer and a laser cutter.

There was already a leak in December 2024 that showed the H2D and a new AMS. In October 2024, Bambu Lab announced that it would postpone the launch of new 3D printers until early 2025. Dr. Tao, CEO and co-founder of Bambu Lab, explained the delay at the time:

“We are developing a product that will push the boundaries of what is possible in consumer 3D printing. The extra time will ensure that we deliver on this promise and deliver a product that is fully mature and supported globally.”

It remains to be seen when Bambu Lab will officially release information on the H2D and what other features this new printer will offer.
