Batch.Works raises £300,000 for AI-assisted closed-loop production

The British company Batch.Works, specializing in 3D printing and digital manufacturing, has successfully completed a crowdfunding campaign. Via the platform Seedrs, 300,000 pounds were collected within a very short time.

According to Batch.Works, the money will go towards the development of AI systems and the concept of “Circular Manufacturing as a Service” (CMaaS). The goal, it says, is to make the manufacturing industry more sustainable and flexible.

Batch.Works already offers a digital manufacturing service based on 3D printing. Starting in 2024, it plans to introduce a cloud-based CMaaS offering for customers. This will enable circular production and be billed monthly.

So far, Batch.Works says it has already been able to produce over 150,000 parts from recycled or bio-plastics for customers in various industries. Reference projects include products for medical technology and children’s headphones made from recycled PLA.
