BEAMIT and MTU Aero Engines to jointly produce aerospace parts

3D printing service provider BEAMIT and MTU Aero Engines, a manufacturer of aircraft engines, have announced a collaboration to print additively manufactured Ti64 components for the aerospace industry.

The partnership combines BEAMIT’s expertise in metal additive manufacturing with MTU’s engineering and design capabilities to deliver high-performance components that are lighter, more durable and more efficient.

“We are excited to collaborate with MTU Aero Engines, a global leader in the aerospace industry, to push the boundaries of what’s possible with additive manufacturing,” said Mauro Antolotti, President and CEO of BEAMIT Spa. “Our teams will work closely together to design and manufacture Titanium components that meet the rigorous quality and performance standards required for aerospace applications.”

The use of titanium, a high-strength, lightweight alloy, is becoming increasingly popular in the aerospace industry. The collaboration between BEAMIT and MTU focuses on developing titanium components large enough to meet the needs of the aerospace industry without compromising quality and performance levels.

“We are always looking for ways to push the boundaries of what’s possible with new manufacturing technologies,” said Dr. Karl-Heinz, Senior Manager Additive Manufacturing Technology, at MTU Aero Engines. “This collaboration with BEAMIT will allow us to explore new ways to use additive manufacturing to create innovative, high-performance components that can help improve the efficiency and performance of our aircraft engines.”

The partnership highlights the potential of additive manufacturing to transform the design and manufacture of aircraft components. It will enable BEAMIT and MTU to develop innovative solutions that will drive the industry forward in the years to come. The collaboration offers both companies benefits such as improved performance and efficiency, longer service life and the potential to drive innovation in the aerospace industry.
