Beehive Industries opens new 3D printing facility in Colorado

Beehive Industries has opened its new 60,000 square foot headquarters in Centennial, Colorado. The facility is designed to put additive manufacturing at the center of jet engine and defense technology development. The goal is to increase efficiency and precision in aerospace production.

A festive ceremony and plant tours were held to mark the opening. Mayor Stephanie Piko and MP Eliza Hamrick were among those in attendance. Visitors were able to view the production facilities, including several metal AM systems from the manufacturer EOS.

Mohammad Ehteshami, CEO of Beehive Industries, emphasized the role of additive manufacturing: “Our goal of strengthening national defense requires innovative technologies. With this plant, we are pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Additive manufacturing allows us to develop components with unprecedented complexity and precision.”

In addition to 3D printers, the facility also includes state-of-the-art CNC machining centers and two custom jet engine test cells. This combination of additive and traditional manufacturing ensures the highest product quality and reliability to meet the requirements of the aerospace industry.

Mayor Piko emphasized the importance of the project: “Beehive’s commitment to advanced manufacturing has both local and national implications. Additive manufacturing opens up new possibilities that were unthinkable just a few years ago.” Rep. Hamrick highlighted the collaboration with schools, which allows students to learn about modern technologies. “Beehive Industries is preparing the next generation for a changing industry.”

Since its founding in 2020, the company has grown rapidly. Its U.S. plant space has more than quadrupled in one year to 170,000 square feet. The Centennial plant will initially employ 65 people, with plans for 100 additional jobs by 2026. According to Jeff Keener, President of the South Metro Denver Chamber, Beehive Industries is setting new standards with this investment: “Their work demonstrates the tremendous potential of additive manufacturing to reshape entire industries.”

The project underscores Colorado’s growing importance as a hub of innovation in the aerospace industry.
