Bento Dynamics, founded in late 2024, is an emerging start-up from Austria that simplifies access to additive manufacturing for businesses. With a “one-stop-shop” approach, Bento Dynamics primarily supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in fully leveraging the potential of 3D printing. From initial consultation to final implementation, the company guides its clients through every project phase and delivers practical solutions. In an interview with 3Druck.com, founder and CEO Max Schulze discusses the significance of additive manufacturing for businesses, current developments in the industry, and his personal motivation to actively shape the manufacturing world with sustainable and innovative approaches.
“Our mission is to help businesses use additive manufacturing not just as a technology but as a genuine competitive advantage,” explains Max Schulze. Bento Dynamics offers design, development, training, and software solutions tailored to the needs of SMEs. The flexible subscription models are particularly noteworthy:
All-Inclusive Subscription: Ideal for companies seeking a comprehensive end-to-end service. Bento Dynamics handles every step, allowing clients to focus entirely on their core business.
Modular Subscription: Perfect for companies needing specific, customized services – from design optimization to process integration.
Both models enable seamless integration of 3D printing solutions into existing structures without unexpected additional costs, all while maintaining a focus on efficiency and scalability.
Beyond these subscription plans, Bento Dynamics emphasizes education and training. Workshops and practical resources help businesses understand and maximize the potential of additive manufacturing. Software solutions that seamlessly integrate into existing processes complete the offering, enabling sustainable optimization of production workflows.
Accessibility and flexibility are central to Bento Dynamics’ philosophy. The company’s tailored solutions make additive manufacturing attractive even for companies with limited budgets. Start-ups and SMEs alike benefit from innovative technologies and forward-thinking approaches. “Our goal is not just to provide technology but also to equip businesses with the knowledge and tools to implement additive manufacturing successfully and sustainably,” emphasizes Max Schulze.
Interview with Max Schulze
Founder and CEO Max Schulze explains in a conversation with 3Druck.com the importance of additive manufacturing for small and medium-sized enterprises. He discusses current developments and trends in the industry, emphasizing the role of innovative technologies, flexible services, and sustainable designs in making manufacturing processes more efficient and resource-friendly.
What role does additive manufacturing play in advancing manufacturing processes for SMEs?
Max Schulze
Additive manufacturing plays a central role in SMEs. It not only shortens the time to market but also significantly reduces development costs and conserves valuable resources. Moreover, it enables designs that are either very complex or outright impossible to achieve with traditional manufacturing methods.
Additive manufacturing has evolved continuously in recent years. Which innovations or technological breakthroughs do you consider particularly important?
The increased accessibility of affordable, high-performance machines is crucial for young companies and startups. Companies like Bambu Lab have revolutionized the market with their high-quality, user-friendly hardware and software. This has turned 3D printers into true “plug-and-play” devices and indispensable tools.
What trends have you recently observed regarding the requirements or expectations of your clients?
We have observed that businesses are often cautious about adopting 3D printing—both in acquiring machines and in ordering custom parts. Particularly during the market introduction phase, small production volumes are crucial. Our customers especially appreciate the flexibility of our services, which allows them to quickly adapt to structural changes and new planning without large investments or long waiting times.
What role does design play in additive manufacturing for you, and how does it influence the development process?
Design is a central component of our development process. It enables the creation of parts and products that are not only resource-efficient and easily replaceable but also stand out for their durability, functionality, and aesthetics. A thoughtful design provides solutions that benefit our customers both in the short and long term.
What impact do you think additive manufacturing will have on various industries in the coming years?
The rapid development of AI tools is already shaping many areas and indicates the future direction of the industry. In the coming years, smarter and more efficient AI solutions will revolutionize design for additive manufacturing. At the same time, technologies that were once only available in high-end machines will become more affordable. We are confident that printers under 10,000 euros capable of processing high-performance materials like Ultem, PEEK, and PEKK will soon become a reality.
What motivates you personally to work in additive manufacturing, and how do you see your role in advancing this technology?
The ability to actively shape our environment and its progress through additive manufacturing deeply motivates me. Our goal is to find the perfect balance for every challenge—between sustainability, durability, cost, technical feasibility, and aesthetics. Additive manufacturing provides an ideal foundation for this—no other technology combines flexibility and precision in such a unique way.
