BIQU announces Panda Breath: Wireless chamber heating with filter and drying mode for desktop 3D printers

BIQU is expanding its “Panda” accessory range with Panda Breath, a system for active temperature control and air purification in closed pressure chambers. The device is designed for desktop 3D printers that have limited or no control over how warm it gets in the build chamber. Many machines offer only simple solutions such as exhaust air or openings that are used for certain materials. Precise temperature control is usually not standard.

According to BIQU, Panda Breath is mounted in the build chamber and is compatible with several Klipper-based printers. The manufacturer lists three functions: active chamber heating, air filtration, and a drying option. The heater works with a 300-watt PTC heating element and is designed to quickly bring the printing chamber to a target temperature. BIQU combines this with the goal of reducing warping during printing. It is also intended to facilitate the use of materials such as PA, ABS, or ASA on systems that otherwise cannot process these materials or can only do so to a limited extent.

The connection is striking: Panda Breath works wirelessly and is to be controlled via an app. The device detects the temperature of the printing surface and starts automatically as soon as it registers an operating temperature. BIQU presents this as an advantage because no additional cabling is required in the printer.

BIQU integrates a replaceable filter into the module for air purification. The air flow is designed to remove particles from the chamber air, making operation safer. Filter solutions of this type are not new, but here they are located directly in a heating and control unit.

The drying function is intended for downtime. The printing chamber serves as a drying room in which coils are placed. Panda Breath then uses a “drying” mode as long as the printer is not printing.

BIQU has not yet released Panda Breath. The manufacturer mentions a pending app and announces a later automatic function via firmware update. The price is said to be around 93 euros.
