The Chinese company Xi’an Bright Laser Technologies (BLT) will present its latest developments in metal-based 3D printing at the Formnext 2025 trade fair in Frankfurt from November 18 to 21. Under the theme “The Power of Now,” BLT aims to demonstrate which additive manufacturing applications are already being used in industrial processes today – not as a vision of the future, but as an established production technology.

BLT is one of the largest providers of metal additive manufacturing solutions and, according to the company, currently operates the world’s largest digital production facility for metal 3D printing.

“Our motto for Formnext 2025 is The Power of Now, says Slobodan Ilic, Sales & Marketing Director, BLT Europe. While many talk about the digital factories of the future, BLT is operating the world’s largest digital production facility right now. We offer 20 different metal LPBF machines, we’re producing over 1,000 tonnes of powder annually, and we are a proven, reliable supplier delivering millions of parts – and all of this now. This isn’t a glimpse into a lab or a vision of what’s to come. At Formnext 2025, we’re showcasing what’s real, what’s proven, and what’s available for you now.”

At the trade fair, BLT will demonstrate practical applications from aerospace, medical technology, and toolmaking. Among the exhibits are Airbus components manufactured with BLT systems that are already used in the A320 program. The company will also showcase custom-fit titanium in-ear monitors from the manufacturer Earfit, illustrating the precision of metal 3D printing. In addition, BLT will present tools with integrated conformal cooling systems that enable uniform heat dissipation and thus reduce cycle times in production.

In addition to industrial references, BLT is placing a special focus this year on process optimization and software integration. New optical systems, real-time monitoring, and the “Smart Powder Application” process are designed to improve production stability and make material usage more efficient. With these solutions, BLT aims to establish additive manufacturing as a standard element of industrial series production – not someday, but today.
