BoXZY: 3D Printer, CNC Mill & Laser Engraver – Update

Justin and Joel Johnson, two brothers from Pittsburgh, want you to “think inside the box”. Their Kickstarter campaign for the all-in-one device BoXZY has already been successfully funded, with currently more than double the goal of $ 50,000.

March 12, 2015: Simply by exchanging the attachments, the “desktop maker space” can be a 3D printer, CNC mill or laser engraver, allowing the user to work with materials like wood, metal, plastic or leather. Equipped with industrial ball screws that drive all 3 axes, the device can work with a precision of up to 4 microns resolution.

The 3D printer can work with the common materials like ABS and PLA, but also processes nylon or flexible filaments. BoXZY utilises an intuitive, simple interface, where users can choose between a beginner and an advanced mode.
