In 2024, Bright Laser Technologies (BLT) has made significant progress in the field of metal 3D printing. With technological innovations, improved production systems and an expanded global presence, the company is underlining its role as an innovative player in additive manufacturing. BLT demonstrates its strengths particularly in the area of series production and meets the increasing demands of various industries, including aerospace, automotive, robotics and medical technology.
BLT has significantly improved the efficiency and scalability of its PBF-LB/M printing systems. With an installation space of 650 × 650 × 850 mm, the BLT-S600 system offers an ideal platform for the production of medium-sized and large components. At the same time, the BLT-S450 system has been optimized with up to eight lasers to ensure productivity and precision for demanding applications in the aerospace and automotive industries. Technologies such as intelligent quality control systems and automated powder circuits not only reduce costs, but also material consumption.
BLT has achieved significant breakthroughs in the field of high-precision manufacturing and thick-film printing processes. Layer thicknesses of up to 150 µm enable fast yet high-quality series production, while variable layer thicknesses can be adapted to specific component requirements. These innovations open up new possibilities, especially for complex components with a high level of detail.
BLT has used its technology in key industries such as aerospace. This has included manufacturing components for rockets and satellites, including parts for the “Gravity-1” launcher and the SmartSat-2A satellite project. The company also focuses on efficiency in the automotive industry, for example through optimized designs for battery housings and steering systems. At the same time, new applications have been developed in medical technology and robotics, including biocompatible materials for bone implants and lightweight components for humanoid robots.
The continuous further development of quality assurance and digital manufacturing systems such as the BLT MES system ensures optimized production processes. This system enables the intelligent use of resources and supports seamless integration into existing production environments.
With an increased global presence and new partnerships, BLT 2024 has further cemented its position as a trusted partner for additive manufacturing solutions. The company believes it is well positioned to make further advances in metal processing in 2025 and help shape the future of the manufacturing industry.
