C.F. Maier expands additive manufacturing with large-format 3D printing system QUEEN 1

The C.F. Maier group of companies, an established manufacturer of plastic components, is increasing its production capacities in the field of additive manufacturing by integrating the QUEEN 1, a large-format 3D printing system from Q.BIG 3D. This investment marks a significant step towards optimizing and expanding the company’s manufacturing capabilities.

The QUEEN 1 forms the central element of the newly established additive manufacturing department at C.F. Maier. With an impressive installation space of 1700 × 1050 × 1050 mm, the machine enables the cost-efficient processing of commercially available plastic pellets. This represents a clear advantage over conventional processes, which often require expensive filaments. Using the innovative VFGF (Variable Fused Granulate Fabrication) process, the QUEEN 1 can print in high resolution where required, while filling large internal volumes quickly and efficiently with thicker webs. This method not only reduces material costs, but also significantly increases production speed and efficiency.

“C.F. Maier is proud to now be able to offer its customers large-format 3D printing,” explains Maximilian Maier, CEO of the C.F. Maier Group. “This expansion of our production capabilities is an important milestone and underlines our commitment to always providing the latest technologies and solutions.”

The QUEEN 1 opens up a wide range of applications that go beyond traditional manufacturing processes. The potential of this technology is particularly evident in caravan construction, the automotive industry and in the manufacture of measuring devices. For example, complex and thin-walled functional samples could be produced efficiently in caravan construction, while precise measuring fixtures could be manufactured in less time in the automotive industry.

The new department for large-format 3D printing is now available for individual consultations and the realization of projects. By working closely with Q.BIG 3D and utilizing the latest 3D printing technologies, C.F. Maier is consolidating its position as an innovator in the plastics processing industry and ensuring that customers benefit from the latest developments in additive manufacturing.

With this strategic expansion, C.F. Maier underlines its commitment to technological advances and sustainable production methods that meet the demands of modern industry.
