Caracol, a specialist in large-format robotic 3D printing, has announced a strategic partnership with Additive Engineering Solutions (AES). The goal of the collaboration is to advance additive manufacturing technologies in the aerospace and defense sector. Under the collaboration, AES will commission Caracol’s Heron AM platform to expand its capabilities in processing thermoplastics and metals to advance complex projects such as composite tooling and engineering mockups.
AES brings extensive industry experience and relevant certifications to the partnership. With an AS9100-certified quality management system and NIST-compliant cybersecurity structure, the company has established itself as a trusted partner for OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in the US. This expertise ideally complements Caracol’s focus on robotic 3D printing and the development of integrated hardware and software solutions for additive manufacturing.
“We are very happy for this strategic partnership with AES. Their know-how and experience in developing cutting-edge applications for the Aerospace & Defense industry, perfectly matches Caracol’s DNA in developing application-driven integrated turnkey HW/SW technological platforms” says Francesco De Stefano, CEO and Co-founder of Caracol. “Together, we can really push the boundaries of Large Format AM in highly regulated industries for both polymers and metal applications.”
Caracol’s Heron AM platform has proven itself worldwide, especially in the production of composite molds. The company is the first LFAM company with an AS9100-certified production facility in Europe and offers solutions that are seamlessly scalable and customizable. This flexibility makes Caracol a valuable partner for companies like AES looking to expand their production capabilities and explore new applications.
“We’re excited to partner with Caracol as A&D application development is at the core of what AES does on a daily basis.” said Austin Schmidt, President & Co-Founder of AES. “Aside from expanding our reach in this industry, Caracol’s offering of both turnkey polymer and metallic robotic platforms is of interest to AES as we continue to evolve in the LFAM market.”
The collaboration between Caracol and AES strengthens both companies’ position in the dynamic large-format additive manufacturing market and sets new standards for applications in highly regulated industries.
