Carbon and Keystone Industries 3D printed 1,000,000 parts for the dental sector

3D printing specialist Carbon has announced a milestone in its ongoing partnership with Keystone Industries: the successful printing of 1,000,000 dental parts using Keystone’s materials on Carbon’s 3D printers. This achievement underscores the strength of the collaboration between Carbon and Keystone.

The collaboration between Carbon and Keystone began with a shared vision to revolutionise dental manufacturing through the use of cutting-edge technology and high-quality materials. A key product of this collaboration is KeySplint Soft Clear, a flexible and durable material developed specifically for Carbon’s Digital Light Synthesis (DLS) technology. This material enables dental laboratories to produce patient-specific parts with high speed and precision.

Since the launch of KeySplint Soft Clear, the partnership between Carbon and Keystone has evolved. Both companies are continually working to develop new materials and processes that help dental labs meet the changing needs of dentists and patients. This collaboration has contributed significantly to the advancement of 3D printing technology and mass production in the dental sector.

The validation of further Keystone materials for use on carbon printers has significantly expanded the range of applications for dental laboratories. These materials offer solutions for different clinical requirements, from nightguards to surgical guides and gingival masks.

With over 1 million parts printed in 314,000 hours and the use of over 11,200 litres of Keystone materials, Carbon demonstrates its ability to deliver customised products on a large scale.

“Reaching this milestone is a significant achievement for our partnership with Keystone and a clear indicator of the direction in which dental manufacturing is headed,” said Phil DeSimone, CEO and Co-Founder of Carbon. “We are not just a 3D printing company; we are pioneering a new era of high-volume custom manufacturing to meet the demands of today’s dental industry.”

Carbon and Keystone remain committed to driving innovation in oral healthcare and optimising digital manufacturing technologies. This collaboration makes the future of digital dentistry even more promising.
