Carl Roth, known for chemicals and laboratory supplies, is entering the field of 3D bioprinting through a new partnership with BIO INX. This collaboration enables Carl Roth to offer the entire BIO INX Bioink portfolio, expanding its product range for 3D printing applications. The materials are specifically optimized for use in tissue engineering research and regenerative medicine and are designed to facilitate access to high-quality bioinks for researchers worldwide.
“As a product manager for cell culture applications, I was concerned to establish a bioprinting portfolio at Carl Roth. During my academic work, I gained a clear understanding of the immense potential of bioprinting, as well as the challenges associated with it,” said Lia Heiser. ”So, in order to support research in this field, it was particularly important to me to offer high-quality and reliable bioinks – products I personally trust and stand behind.”
BIO INX develops bioinks that are tailored to various bioprinting technologies such as light-based and extrusion processes. A particular focus is on clinical applicability, for example through GMP-like bioinks that facilitate the transition from research to practical application.
“This partnership with Carl Roth is a great opportunity for BIO INX to streamline logistics and sales channels through one of the most well-known distributors of research chemicals and labware in the world,” says Jasper Van Hoorick, CEO of BIO INX. “Every scientist is familiar with Carl Roth’s products, and their one-stop shop principle and this partnership brings our technology closer to clinical reality through more efficient logistics and trusted partnerships.”
This partnership marks Carl Roth’s entry into the growing 3D and bioprinting industry. The combination of Carl Roth’s distribution expertise and BIO INX’s specialization in biomaterials is expected to accelerate advances in bioprinting research and clinical applications. This underlines Carl Roth’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological developments and actively promoting life science research.
