Following the release of the universal bioink kits, Swedish startup CELLINK has launched their 3D bioprinter “INKREDIBLE”.
The company decided to develop their own 3D printer, when they were testing CELLINK products on other bioprinters, but were not satisfied with the features available in these devices.
The price for the desktop device is set at $ 4,849, which makes 3D bioprinting technology more affordable and available for researchers. Equipped with dual print heads and a digital pressure monitor, users have the option of either printing inside a well plate or petri dish. The INKREDIBLE+ version of the 3D printer is equipped with CELLINK’s patented HEPA filtered Clean Chamber Technology, providing an almost sterile environment, and comes with a price tag of $ 9,000.
CELLINK has also teamed up with RoosterBio, a company producing stem cells, to offer ready-to-use kits containing 3D printable hydrogel and stem cells, reducing time consuming preparation time. The new kits were first presented at the 2015 TERMIS World Congress in Boston.
