Centauri Carbon 2 Combo: New multicolor 3D printer announced by ELEGOO

The manufacturer ELEGOO plans to unveil the Centauri Carbon 2 Combo multicolor 3D printer on January 26 at 5 p.m. CET. The Shenzhen-based company is thus expanding its portfolio in the consumer segment. According to the manufacturer, the new printer is aimed at beginners, hobbyists, and private users who want to produce multicolor prints without complicated setup.

The core of the announcement is the new CANVAS system, which automates color changes. The printer changes filaments independently and loads materials without manual intervention. In addition, a filament backup function is integrated. RFID-based material recognition automatically identifies the filaments used and adjusts the printing parameters accordingly. The aim is to reduce the effort involved in multicolor printing and minimize typical sources of error.

The Centauri Carbon 2 Combo can also be connected to the Nexprint platform. Models can be downloaded and printed directly via the online environment. According to ELEGOO, this requires neither CAD experience nor complex setup. The approach is aimed at users who want to use ready-made designs and get quick results.

The printer is designed for quiet operation for use in living spaces. ELEGOO specifies a noise level of around 45 decibels. It is operated via a 5-inch touchscreen with a capacitive surface. On the hardware side, the manufacturer cites several updates. These include a high-temperature nozzle for greater material diversity, a faster automatic leveling system, and improved temperature control. These changes are intended to facilitate the use of different filaments and increase process stability.

ELEGOO has not yet released specific details on price, complete technical specifications, and regional availability. The company plans to provide this information when the Centauri Carbon 2 Combo launches later this month.
