The ceramitec trade fair in Munich, which presents technological developments in high-performance ceramics every two years, is entering into a strategic partnership with the German Association of Jewelry, Watches, Silverware and Related Industries (BVSU) in 2026. The aim is to open up new fields of application for ceramic materials and to specifically promote the exchange between industry representatives, research and trade visitors.
The growing importance of technical ceramics in the jewelry and watch industry is at the heart of this collaboration. These materials, which originally come from areas such as medical technology, aviation and automotive engineering, increasingly offer potential for design-oriented applications thanks to their high strength, temperature resistance and biocompatibility. In particular, 3D printing opens up new scope in terms of shape design, functional integration and small series production.
Another focus of the trade fair is on powder metallurgy processes, which are of interest to many BVSU members. These additive and subtractive technologies enable precise and material-efficient manufacturing processes that can also be used for high-quality jewelry or complex watch components. With more than 13,000 trade visitors expected from over 80 countries, ceramitec offers a platform for technological knowledge transfer and networking along the entire value chain.
Maritta Lepp, Exhibition Director of ceramitec, explains: “The jewelry and watch industry opens up a new target group for us in the field of technical ceramics, which still has a lot of potential. The BVSU is the ideal partner and multiplier for us in the industry.”
BVSU Managing Director Guido Grohmann is looking forward to the collaboration: “ceramitec is an ideal platform for our member companies to find out about the latest technologies and materials for their own production processes and to meet potential business partners. We are looking forward to exciting moments and encounters at ceramitec!”
The next edition of the trade fair will take place from March 24 to 26, 2026.
