The 3D printing software CHITUBOX from Shenzhen-based company CBD-Tech has been released in a revised version that combines the Basic and Pro versions in a single platform for the first time. In addition to a newly structured user interface, the manufacturer has significantly improved the performance of the entire system. The goal: shorter preparation times and more efficient management of complex projects.
According to the company, the core architecture of the software has been completely redesigned. Models can now be loaded up to 13 times faster, and slice files can be saved up to five times faster. Processes such as the detection of overhangs and islands have also been optimized and run up to 34 and 88 times faster than in the previous Basic version, respectively. These improvements are designed to significantly speed up the workflow from model import to print preparation.
One of the most notable new features is Multi-Platform. It allows up to 100 printing plates to be managed simultaneously within a single project. The program automatically distributes models and simplifies the organization of multi-part prints or small series. This eliminates the need for repeated manual alignment of individual components—a particular advantage for users who regularly prepare multiple print jobs in parallel.
Automation has also been expanded. The revised ChituAction tool now integrates options for hollowing out and drilling models, reducing manual steps. The new Area Support feature allows support structures to be placed directly on the model using markings. For advanced users, the Magic Support tool is also available, which generates complex support systems with a single click.
With the integration of the ChituHive library from MyMiniFactory, CHITUBOX is becoming more of a central hub for resin printing. Users get access to high-quality 3D models directly in the software and benefit from discounts on in-app purchases.
CBD-Tech is also introducing a three-tier pricing model: the basic version remains free, while the new Advanced plan, starting at $9.99 per month, offers additional features such as multi-platform and more precise slicing options. The Pro version, priced at $15.99, is aimed at professional users who need advanced automation and detailed repair tools.
