Co-Founder of BEEVERYCREATIVE to Lead Network of Portuguese Fablabs and Makerspaces

Francisco Mendes, co-founder of BEEVERYCREATIVE and head of the company’s Innovation Team, will be leading the Portuguese Network of Fablabs and Makerspaces in cooperation with Bernardo Gaeiras from Fablab Lisboa.

The national network is part of the government strategy for entrepreneurship, the StartUP Portugal initiative. Francisco will oversee the development and growth of the current ecosystem. Together with business incubators and design factories, the network aims at strengthening Portuguese technology start-ups to become competitive on the international market.

Francisco is currently involved in other initiatives like “PT3D”, a platform to embrace the Portuguese 3D Printing community, the “Hardware City”, a community of entrepreneurs that aim to close the gap between hardware startups and contract manufacturers, Hack’Aveiro, a movement of Aveiro’s Hackers, Makers and Artists, and is a frequent speaker in seminars and conferences mainly about 3D Printing. He has a degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, from Aveiro University, and he holds a post-graduation in Industrial Automation.

Francisco has always been a fervent Maker, and passionate in relation to OpenSource technology. He frequently publishes his own projects on OpenSource community websites, and has always kept BEEVERYCREATIVE in close touch with a wide, like-minded audience.
