Cobra Golf relies on 3D printing: New COBRA TOUR Irons announced

Cobra Golf has announced that it will launch a new series of 3D-printed golf irons from March 2025. The COBRA TOUR Irons are based on the LIMIT3D series, which the company introduced in 2024 in limited quantities. However, the new product line will be added to the range as a regular model.

The COBRA TOUR Irons are manufactured using Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) technology, an additive manufacturing method known for its precision and material strength. While the LIMIT3D irons were only produced in an edition of 500, the TOUR Irons will be available worldwide from March. The price for a set (4-PW) is USD 2,450. Additional models such as a 3-iron or a gap wedge can be ordered individually.

A key design feature of the COBRA TOUR Irons is the integration of internal grid structures. This technology enables a targeted redistribution of weight, which optimizes the club’s moment of inertia. The result, according to Cobra Golf, is an iron that offers the forgiveness of a larger game improvement club but retains the feel and precision of a professional model.

Mike Yagley, Vice President of Innovation & AI at Cobra Golf, commented on the new irons: “The LIMIT3D irons were the first commercially available 3D printed clubs and sold out so quickly that we had to produce more. The new COBRA TOUR irons offer the same high-quality construction and performance, but are now part of our standard offering.”

Cobra Golf has been working with 3D printing technologies for around five years. Initial partnerships with HP and Parmatech enabled the production of the KING Supersport 35 putter using Metal Jet technology. The company later switched to DMLS to realize more complex designs such as the LIMIT3D and now the TOUR series.

The new COBRA TOUR Irons will be available in stores from March 21, 2025. They mark the next step in the use of 3D printing for high-performance sports equipment.
