CR-3D introduces new FieldRACK 3D printer for the harshest environments

The manufacturer CR-3D has introduced FieldRACK, a new 3D printer that is specifically designed for applications in harsh or mobile environments. The device can be integrated into a 19-inch server rack (14 height units) and is therefore suitable for both stationary and mobile use – for example in vehicles, on ships or in outdoor applications. The compact design combines mechanical stability with sophisticated features for demanding industrial scenarios.

The installation space of the FieldRACK measures 210 × 205 × 250 mm and can be actively heated up to 60 °C. This temperature enables the printing of technical polymers with increased requirements for temperature control and warpage control. A class H13 HEPA filter filters emissions and increases safety during operation in enclosed spaces.

The high-flow extruder used operates at temperatures of up to 350 °C and thus supports a wide range of materials, including high-performance plastics. Sensor-supported print bed measurement and automatic calibration via nozzle tip ensure consistent print quality – even when changing locations or materials.

For mobile operation, the FieldRACK offers a mechanically decoupled design with integrated vibration suppression. This means that the print quality is maintained even if the printer is moved by a vehicle or set up in an unstable location. It is controlled via a local touch display or in standalone mode via USB stick. WLAN and Ethernet are also available, but without a mandatory cloud connection – an advantage for users with increased data protection requirements.

The printer is aimed at industrial users, educational institutions, research laboratories and organizations that work under special operating conditions. The system can also be used in training environments or in safety-critical sectors.

CR-3D produces the FieldRACK in Germany and thus addresses a gap in the market: A compact, robust FDM printer with professional features that can be used both mobile and stationary – without sacrificing precision or ease of use.
