With version 2.7.0.0, CR-3D’s proprietary slicer software has received an extensive feature update. SliCR-3D was developed specifically for the company’s own 3D printers and is aimed at professional users who value precise control and local data processing. The new version focuses on workflow improvements, additional tools and deeper integration with the manufacturer’s printers.
A central innovation is the automatic communication between SliCR-3D and the connected device. The slicer directly recognizes relevant print parameters such as nozzle diameter, print bed size or installed hardware modules. This direct network connection replaces external server services. According to CR-3D, this means that all data remains locally on the company’s own system – a conscious decision against cloud-based solutions.
In addition to the technical connection, the update also brings several new functions for model preparation. These include an organic support mode that is specifically tailored to overhangs and requires less material. Another new feature is a cutting tool with automatic pin connectors, which makes large models divisible and can be precisely assembled later.
The download and further information can be found directly on the manufacturer’s official website.
