Creality Hi Combo: New multicolor 3D printer for 489 euros

Creality launches the Hi Combo, a new multicolor 3D printer. The model combines high printing speeds, automated functions and a user-friendly design. The printer is available for 489 euros.

The heart of the Hi Combo is the Creality Filament System (CFS). This unit offers space for up to four filament spools. By connecting four units, prints with up to 16 colors can be realized. In addition to PLA and PETG filaments, the system also supports water-soluble and easily removable support materials, making it easier to implement complex geometries. The CFS unit manages the filaments automatically and automatically changes the spool if there is a material shortage. An integrated RFID system recognizes the filaments used and adjusts the print settings accordingly.

The printer is supplied pre-assembled and can be put into operation in just a few simple steps. The X-axis is automatically leveled, while the heated print bed supports hands-free calibration. An integrated print sensor system optimizes the material flow to reduce messy corners and misprints.

With a print speed of up to 500 mm/s, the Hi Combo is one of the faster models in its class. The drive system uses closed-loop stepper motors with Field-Oriented Control (FOC) algorithms to precisely control movements. The new high-performance hotend unit reaches 300°C and offers a maximum flow rate of 40 mm³/s, which is a significant improvement over previous Creality models.

Other features include an integrated webcam for remote monitoring and dynamic fan control, which makes the printer particularly quiet. The latest version of Creality OS optimizes colour management, while Creality Print improves the processing of multi-colour 3MF models. In addition, the Creality Cloud App offers an extended model library and new tools for print preparation.

After Bambu Lab created a hype around multicolor systems, Creality now has a similar model on offer. With a price of 489 euros, the device is cheaper than some models from the competition.
