Creality Hi: New affordable multicolor 3D printer from Creality

Chinese manufacturer Creality has announced a new 3D printer called the Creality Hi. As a so-called “bed slinger”, the device is aimed at both experienced users and beginners. The printer not only has a maximum printing speed of 500 mm/s, but also offers printing in 16 colors with a filament changer.

Color 3D printing with the Creality Hi is made possible with the Creality Filament System (CFS). Up to four CFS units can be combined. The system automatically recognizes RFID-labelled filaments and adjusts the print settings accordingly. This not only simplifies the workflow, but also improves compatibility with the printing materials.

Color management and slicing are carried out directly via the Creality software. Users can prepare models on their smartphone and send them directly to the printer. Creality has pre-assembled 95 percent of the printer, so only a few steps are needed to start printing for the first time.

A 3.2-inch touchscreen ensures easy operation, can be folded away when not in use and saves space. An integrated camera allows you to monitor the printing process and offers functions such as time-lapse recording. The printer also features automatic bed calibration. Another practical feature is the ability to load and unload filaments quickly and easily via touch control.

The Creality Hi relies on a robust aluminium alloy construction and linear guide rails to minimize vibrations and improve print quality. Active vibration compensation and the use of FOC step servo motors also contribute to precise and fast printing results.

With an entry-level price of €299 without CFS and €469 in a bundle, the Creality Hi offers an interesting overall package for users who are looking for speed and multicolor printing.
