The Chinese manufacturer Creality is parting ways with its well-known HALOT series for resin 3D printers. Its sister company PioCreat is taking over the development and marketing of the devices with immediate effect. PioCreat is backed by Fred Liu, one of the original co-founders of Creality. The handover means that the HALOT series will continue as an independent product line under the umbrella of the industrially oriented PioCreat brand.
The HALOT series comprises several cost-effective SLA 3D printers aimed at the consumer market. According to the company, Creality intends to focus more strongly on its core segment, FDM printing. By transferring the HALOT series to PioCreat, the manufacturer hopes to achieve greater flexibility in product development. PioCreat will be able to react more quickly to requirements and independently implement adaptations for new market developments.
Fred Liu, co-founder of both Creality and PioCreat, described the transfer as an opportunity to drive forward the development of resin technology at PioCreat more independently. According to Liu, the PioCreat team has more than nine years of experience in industrial 3D printing. This expertise will now be used for the HALOT series in order to better ensure both the quality and further development of the devices.
Technically, little will change for users initially. Existing devices will continue to receive support and updates; only the branding and contacts will change. However, the product line management will be clearly separated: while Creality will increasingly focus on affordable FDM printers for private users, PioCreat will take over the development of more professional SLA devices.
