CRP USA, an advanced 3D printing solutions company, has qualified for the 2024 3D Printing Industry Awards in the “3D Designer of the Year” category with an exceptional development. This recognition honors the collaboration between CRP USA and Paralympian Tatyana McFadden to develop innovative racing gloves for wheelchair sports.
Chris Brewster, CEO of CRP USA, comments: “The 3D Printing Industry Awards celebrate global advancements in additive manufacturing, honoring innovators who redefine industries. Being shortlisted underscores the transformative power of CRP USA’s technologies and materials, particularly in pushing boundaries for Paralympic sports.”
The racing gloves were made using CRP Technology’s Windform XT 2.0, a fiberglass-reinforced composite material processed via laser sintering. This combination allows for exceptional durability and precision, as well as an ergonomic fit specifically tailored to the demands of high-performance sport. The gloves played a key role in McFadden’s success at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, where she became the most successful US track and field athlete in Paralympic history.
Chris Brewster adds: “By voting, you contribute to the recognition of pioneering collaborations that merge technology and human performance. Together, let’s celebrate Tatyana’s inspiring journey and CRP USA’s commitment to innovation in additive manufacturing. Thank you for supporting the future of 3D printing in sports!”
The project is an example of how 3D printing not only pushes the boundaries of technological possibilities, but also complements the human body in its performance. The partnership between CRP USA and McFadden illustrates how additive manufacturing can fulfill individual needs while taking sports to a new level. This example underscores the impact 3D printing is having on a variety of industries, including high-performance sports.
