The company CurifyLabs , which specializes in personalized pharmaceutical therapies, has introduced an advanced version of its 3D printing system for compounding pharmacies with the PharmaPrinter Aurum. The device is part of the company’s in-house Compounding System Solution and is designed to replace manual steps in non-sterile drug manufacturing with automated processes. The aim is to produce personalized medicines faster and more reproducibly, while simultaneously meeting documentation and quality assurance requirements.
Technically, the PharmaPrinter Aurum is based on an extrusion-based 3D printing process in which semi-solid pharmaceutical formulations are deposited layer by layer into defined dosage forms. According to the manufacturer, throughput can be significantly increased compared to manual methods, which is particularly relevant given the growing demand for individualized dosages. The system features a compact design, making it suitable even for pharmacies with limited laboratory space, without sacrificing high production capacity.
A key feature is the integrated quality control. A built-in scale enables immediate weight verification of each individual unit, simplifying traceability and making dosage deviations visible at an early stage. This is complemented by a software platform that consolidates prescription data, process parameters, and safety functions. The manufacturer also points to integrated measures to safeguard system and patient data.
“CurifyLabs is transforming pharmaceutical compounding by integrating precision and automation into a traditionally manual process,” said Charlotta Topelius, CurifyLabs CEO and Founder. “For pharmacies requiring higher volume production from a smaller device, the CurifyLabs PharmaPrinter Aurum is a future-proof solution.”
By expanding its product portfolio, CurifyLabs is responding to the increasing use of 3D printing in the pharmaceutical environment. The technology is regarded as a building block for implementing personalized therapies economically while making regulatory requirements easier to control.
